Women's Guild

An Invitation to Join

Queen’s Women’s Guild was established in 1934 to unite in service, prayer, and friendship the women of the newly established parish. It is now the oldest active group within the parish and the services it provides are vital. We warmly invite all women of the parish to support the Guild in its work. You can join a circle, or start your own circle, and enjoy the benefits of a warm relationship with other Christian women. If joining a circle doesn’t fit your particular life situation at this time, you may contribute by:
1) Being a Supporting Member by simply paying $10 in dues and offering one hour of service during the year for one Guild activity or event.
2) Or, if you are a senior parishioner and would like to continue to support the efforts of the Guild you can send in sustaining dues of $2 and be recognized at our Installation Mass.

Please look over the form on the reverse side and choose the best way for you to support the work of Queen’s Guild. You can drop the form along with your check made out to Queen’s Guild in the Sunday collection basket or mail it to the parish office.

Living and Loving Creator of us all…

I, reflect on the infinite circle which is YOU. I am in that circle with women who nurture me, women who teach me women who give of themselves, women who call me to be more than I am. Loving Creator, I thank you for helping me to prayerfully recognize, appreciate, and widen the Circle of women in my life.

Amen

Altar Care (For the circles)

posted Oct 30, 2010 5:54 AM by QMM Webmaster

1. Altars (Main and Side)

* Clean Tabernacle with soft, damp cloth(use water only) and wipe dry immediately.

*Clean all marble—side altars, main altar and ambo, cruet tables, ramp rails, and counters in the main and work sacristy using the spray in the work cupboard in the work sacristy.  Spray lightly and wipe with a clean dry cloth.  Don’t get any of this on the wood. Do not use water or other cleaners on the marble.

* Dust chairs, ambo top, piano, and chairs with a clean, dry cloth.

2. Sacristy

*Dust using cloth sprayed with polish: wood furniture, top of cabinets, windowsills.

*Clean sinks if needed, the sink labeled “Sacrarium” is covered by a piece of marble with handles.  Before putting the lid back on, make sure the sing is good and dry.

3. Holy Water Fonts

*Clean and refill all the Holy Water Fonts as needed.  To clean, remove Holy Water with syringe and dispose of used Holy Water in the “Sacrarium” on the left side of the sacristy sinks.  Clean the font with a weak bleach solution on a cloth and wipe dry.  Fill the fonts with Holy Water from the Baptismal Font.

*Include the Holy Water Font in the Adoration Chapel in your cleaning.

All supplies for this are in the slanted cupboard in the southeast corner of the sacristy.

4. Vestibules, Bride’s Room, Children’s Rooms

*Clean mirrors and windows.

*Dust using cloth sprayed with polish.

5. Miscellaneous

*Dust statues by confessionals

*If time, straighten altar server garments of hangers.

*Please bring your own cloths (or rags!) to use and take them home.

I think it best if church can be done after the 8:00 AM Mass on Saturdays or after the 6:00 PM Mass on Wednesday as the church is already open and we won’t have to bother anyone to let us in.  Twice a month should be plenty.
